What a Good Display can Cost You

You may have had a few emails pass your inbox with the new Coventry Displays that we have commissioned Blue Earth Designs to make for us.

They are gorgeous, aren’t they?   They are worth every penny.

I am with you that sometimes buying a display seems a bit pricey and maybe unnecessary.  I always think that I could put something together in my store that will work, be original and way cheaper.   I am always wrong.

I remember one year I thought I could make a nice flocked jewelry display for an odd shaped shelf for less than the custom one online.   The custom one was $80.  I ended up spending $100 and about 8 hours making it just so.   To boot, it fell apart the minute I moved it.

A good display, like the new hand crafted wood displays that we are offering are worth their weight in products.   We have found that product sell about 25% faster in a dedicated, branded display than they sell on the shelf.   Over and over again, we prove this and it’s worth the investment every time.

Let’s do the math.

$85 for a Blessed Herbal Display.   It holds about a $450 value in products (36 Blessed Herbal Candles)

A small store sells through 50% of their order in 30 days (18 candles).    A full display sells through 50% of the candles in about 20 days (or less).  Once a display gets to half full sales slow down to a crawl.  No one wants to pull from a picked over dispaly so you get an opportunity to restock at 20 days, selling an additional 9 candles in that month.

9 candles at full retail (2.25 markup)  is an additional $117 in sales.  In 2 months that display is paid for and adding an additional $1000 to your total sales at the end of the year.  (That’s just for a small store)

How much can a good display cost you - It can cost you NOT to have one!
