Everyone’s feeling a little soft right now

March puts us right smack in the middle of the Pisces season. The energy of Pisces tends to be misunderstood and blamed for many of the less desirable behaviors we can indulge in. Namely addiction, fanaticism, and dysfunction. Also, cultures tend to define the meaning of the sign through their own lenses.

Here in the USA, we are a culture that is obsessed with ‘immortality’, ideals of perfection, tribalism, and personal standing. This makes it more difficult to bring out the true meaning of the fishes into everyday life. Pisces is in fact the bringer of compassion, humility, and empathy. We can certainly find these qualities in our culture, especially during times of disasters, but it’s the dark side of the Pisces we need to guard against when we are afraid.

Pisces season is connected to the deeper currents of life and its continuous cycle of birth-death-rebirth. In other words, everything that has a beginning must come to an end, and many of us are really uncomfortable with facing our mortality and letting go of the past so something new can begin. Fear of the unknown can trigger poor decisions, like using mind altering drugs, obsessing over what we don’t have or what we are trying to hang on to, and being destructive to our world as a way to cope with a life gone scary.

Now, of course, we need to ground the symbolism of Pisces into everyday life, and it appears usually as a deep sensitivity to the environment around us. We may begin to care about things a little more and may find ourselves more compassionate, understanding, and forgiving. Additionally, lurking beneath the surface, the mermaid sings her magical song. If we listen close enough it may give us the glimpse of a better life, on the condition that we let go of the broken ideas, plans, and relationships and allow new opportunities to reveal themselves.

Magically speaking, the month of March is about letting go of the old and embracing our future potential. Candles such as Needed Change, Tornado Alley, Uncrossing, andTransition spell kits are recommended. It’s also the month where we need to replace all our cleansing tools like mops, brooms, buckets, sponges, and outdated or expired cleaning products for new ones. This magically helps us release the old and embrace the new. So, get to spring cleaning your soul and creating a better you.

Weekly Breakdown of the Energy

March 2 – March 8

Love and relationships will be the major theme of the first week of March with Venus square Saturn, Mercury Rx sextile Venus, and Venus moving into Taurus. On Tuesday, Venus forms a very challenging square to Saturn before she enters the sign of the bull. Feelings of insecurity and self-doubt may easily surface, especially in relationships that are already riddled with complications. The good news is that Mercury retrograde could provide an assist as he sextiles Venus and helps give insight into your problems that ultimately could lead to positive resolutions.

Venus changes signs on Wednesday when she moves into the sign of Taurus. You’ll be feeling more patient and that can help cool relationship tensions and bring a sounder approach to problem solving. However, if you ignore your problems, attempt to sweep them under the rug, or fail to resolve them, Sunday could become a no fun day when Venus conjuncts Uranus. Recommended candles for this week are Love’s Enchantment Blessed Herbal candle, Emotional Balance Blessed Herbal candle and Adam and Eve Hoo Doo candle.

March 9 – March 15

The two big cosmic newsmakers this week are the Full Moon in Virgo and Mercury going direct.

All the activity this week happens on Monday and early Tuesday. We have a Full Moon in Mercury ruled Virgo. This is a great day to let go of old habits that are no longer working for you, old projects that linger but will never be completed, and making changes to your routine in order to make life easier for you. Additionally, health related issues may be an issue. On Tuesday, Mercury turns direct in Aquarius. Communication problems and technical snafus should slowly improve and anything you put off can proceed as planned. This is a good time to resolve any disputes that may have occurred during the retrograde. For the rest of the week, a few minor aspects occur but nothing major. On Wednesday, the Sun sextiles Jupiter, which could bring a little bit of luck and unexpected opportunities. On Sunday, the Sun will sextile Pluto, which is great for finishing projects or other activities that need completion.

Recommended candles for this week are Out of My WayandEverything and Then Some Wicked Witch Mojo candles. Also,Road Opener and Van Van Hoo Doo candles

March 16 – 22

This week we have three different sign changes, Mercury moves into Pisces, the beginning of Aries season, and Saturn in Aquarius. On Monday, Mercury moves out of Aquarius and back into Pisces. It may feel like ‘Groundhog Day’ because many of the themes of the past six weeks will resurface. Since you will be receptive to the emotional needs of others, this is a great time to repair damage that may have occurred while Mercury was retrograde. Mercury will remain in Pisces until April 12th.

The Sun moves into Aries on Thursday and we begin the spring season (unless you live below the equator). The temperature will slowly heat up, and things will begin to sprout and grow. You may feel an upsurge in energy and will feel like you can accomplish more. Use this energy wisely while it is available.

Finally, this weekend Saturn moves out of Capricorn and enters Aquarius. There will be a tendency to shift focus from individual ambitions (Capricorn) towards the group consciousness (Aquarius). Saturn in Aquarius is great for group consensus and shared ideals, but there is often a tendency to sacrifice individual freedoms in order to maintain social acceptance.

Recommended candles for this week are Emotional Balance Blessed Herbal candle, Reversing Hoo Doo candle, Success Affirmation candle, Fire (Energy and Will) Blessed Herbal candleand Crown of Glory Hoo Doo candle.

March 23 – March 29

The last week of March may be the most potent one as Mars conjoins Pluto and a New Moon occurs in Aries. On Monday, Mars forms a conjunction to Pluto in Capricorn. This aspect is about power and ambition, and it will be easy to accomplish tasks or anything you focus on. However, be careful with using this power ruthlessly because it will surely backfire in the future. We have a New Moon that occurs in Aries on Tuesday. This New Moon is great for beginning projects or engaging in new activities. Begin planting your seeds now so you can harvest them later in the year.

Finally, Venus makes lovely aspects to Jupiter and Pluto this weekend. This may bring new opportunities for love and romance. Recommended candles this week are Stability/Self-esteem, Emotional Balance, Attraction and Love’s Enchantment Blessed Herbal candle, Road Opener Hoo Doo candle, Forever Mine Wicked Witch Mojo candle.
