Volume discounts

First, on behalf of our entire team, we’d like to thank you for being a part of the Coventry Creations family. Your business means a lot to us and it’s because of customers like you that we have managed to stick around for over 30 years.

We’re often asked if we offer volume discounts or reduced pricing for larger customers. While we do offer special pricing for distributors who meet very specific criteria (sell only to retailers, place minimum order quantities, etc), we do not offer additional discounts to wholesale customers beyond the already discounted 40% off of our suggested retail prices. It’s a policy and principle that we hold sacred and there are a few reasons for that.

One of the main reasons we don’t offer special discounts to only certain customers is that we don’t want to negatively impact our wholesale tier by placing some customers at a competitive disadvantage. Maintaining marketplace parity is essential for us to ensure that our smaller customers don’t get outflanked by larger customers' ability to leverage superior purchasing power. We want to prevent some customers from selling our products at prices lower than what other customers can profitably reach. We’d eventually lose customers that way.

Also, we don’t want our products selling for significantly below the suggested retail price. It hurts our brand. Over the years Coventry Creations has carefully positioned our candles, oils, and sprays as premium products – not quite luxury, but a notch above similar products in our space. People have come to know our products as well-made, authentic, and effective. And, they’ve become accustomed to paying a little more for those qualities. It’s a perception we want to maintain and perpetuate. 

Finally, Coventry Creations prides ourselves on our ability to pay a living wage to everyone that we employ. While pouring candles isn’t a job that requires a PhD, the people doing that job here at Coventry Creations provide the backbone of our business. They’re important to us and we value every single one of them. Our price points enable us to provide them with compensation that far exceeds the largely insufficient state and federally approved minimum wage rates. It’s simply the right thing to do and something we feel very passionately about.
